Description of Hodgya
Village Hodgya (Hoghia  - rom.) is situated near Székelyudvarhely (Odorheiu Secuiesc), 8 km on Southwest, belongs to civil parish Felsőboldogfalva (Feliceni). Geographical coordinates are: Longitude: 25° 13' 60E, Latitude: 46° 16' 60N. From Székelyudvarhely you can drive to Hodgya on DN 14 till Bikafalva (Taureni), from where you follow DJ 17. You may also take DJ 17 via Farcád (Forteni) directly from Székelyudvarhely leaving the city trough Lejtő str.
 A nice trip can be done also trough the forest on the side of rivulet Budvár to Szekelyudvarhely which is situated in this way only on 3 km from the village. Local used to access the city often on this way.
 
The village is situated by the side of rivulet Gát (or Sükő) which springs near the village Sükő (Cireseni). The village has two parts Alszeg and Felszeg, delimited by the church.
The closest railway station is situated in Bikafalva, only 2,5  km from Hodgya. Daily three times passes the train between Székelyudvarhely and Sighisoara.
 The village has 264 inhabitants 99,6% are Hungarian. The majority (244) belongs to the Reformed Church. The inhabiatants are part of the old tribe of seklers. (More here about seklers)
Unique and very positive demographical situation is shown by the presence of the younger generation: there lives 59 children aged 0-14 years!
In the village there is a kindergarten (19 children) and 1-4  class (17 children) school in a new building finished in 2007. The Cutural House was built in 1960s. The Reformed Church was built between 1812-1824, and was fully renewed after the devastating flood of 23. August 2005.

In the village there are 3 little shops, a bakery, a post office and  very nice guesthose .
The village’s sister congregation is the NGK Kampen from Netherlands. This congregation seriously contributed in the recent decades in the development of the village: gas conducts, agricultural machines, church and pastoral house renovation, school and kindergarten new building and equipment, diaconal actions was realized with their help.
